Strengthening the team at Romsey Chamber of Commerce

At yesterday evening’s Annual General Meeting of the Romsey business group, held at the Cromwell Arms, a new Executive Committee was elected by members. Captaining the team for the coming year is retailer Adam Clemett, who, along with his wife Debbie, runs the Kit and Caboodle stores in the town centre. Adam steps up from Vice President last year with retiring president Julian Gee reverting to the Vice President role for 2023-24.

The other members elected to the Executive were:
Treasurer: Paul Tilley Azets
Philip Liddell Ace Liftaway Ltd
Mary Greggains Made M
Sarbjit Nagra Footner & Ewing Solicitors
Karen Clarkson, Parker Bullen Solicitors
Suzi Schilling, Romsey Town Council
Rita Kohli, The Mortgage Stop
Ali Fielder, Bongo Creative

In a related move, current Chamber Secretary Philippa Luckhurst has stood down from her position but wishing to maintain her relationship with the Chamber in a voluntary capacity, offered herself for election and was duly voted onto the Executive committee by those at the meeting. Philippa has been replaced as Secretary by Nicqui Chatterley who has recently taken on the role.

Commenting on the changes new President Mr Clemett, a keen cricketer, said, “I am very proud to take up the position and would like to thank Julian for his work over the past year and leaving me a good wicket on which to bat. We now have in place a very strong Executive group, full of enthusiastic professionals who are committed to the Chamber and to want to ensure it continues to support local businesses and be an integral part of the town and surrounding area”.
