Loneliness and social Isolation are a daily reality for many older people in the UK, more so than ever due to the recent pandemic.
The Social Collective Project is a small not for profit organisation, working to reduce loneliness and Social isolation, by way of increasing public awareness, to mobilise communities and organisations, to help people reconnect and build and maintain meaningful relationships.
We aim to offer a one to one friendship service to older adults and also enable people to access interested groups that currently exist and for Social Collective to start new groups that don’t, with the emphasis of promoting movement outdoors and socially.
Fresh Air, exercise and social interaction are all clinically proven to help people feel better, not just physically but mentally too. It can help improve blood pressure, heart rate, strengthen the immune system and increase Serotonin levels, reduce anxiety and aid sleep.
Working with local GP’s, charities, other organisations and volunteers to deliver services within Hampshire.
